This year’s audition will run on Saturday 2^th June at Actorworks, Raine House, 16 Raine Street, Wapping, London, E1W 3RL

Auditionees will:

• need to arrive at 9.30am for a 10am start and expect to be at the venue until at least 5pm
• have learned and prepared two contrasting speeches of no more than two minutes each – one from an Elizabeth/Jacobean play and one from a play written after 2000
• dress in loose-fitting, comfortable clothing which will not restrict movement
• understand fully the ethos of Actorworks and have a keen interest in becoming part of  its company

The audition will run in stages beginning with performance of speeches in front of two different panels; then a workshop; then a final performance of one speech. At each stage, unsuccessful applicants will be able to go home.

IMPORTANT

The winner of each scholarship MUST accept the place on the day, so please be very sure that you wish to commit to the training.

Fee-paying places may be offered on the day, but DO NOT have to be accepted immediately.

Scholarships are not transferable.

There is no audition fee on this day.

We are holding a three day musical theatre taster course on the 16, 17 & 18 April, giving you an insight into our new musical theatre course.

As with our acting courses, this taster course can be taken instead of attending a regular audition, with places being offered to suitable candidates at the end of the three days.

The course will run from 10am till 4pm

What to expect?

- Work with professionals from the industry

· Dance classes of various styles

· Improvisation

· Singing in a group

· Solo Singing

· Introduction to Spolin Technique

· Question time with course directors

What do you need?

· Prepare one song

· Bring Dancewear

· Prepare one monologue

After the success of last year’s Agamemnon, Actorworks Intensive Course students will be returning to The Jack Studio in Brockley for their production of Euripides’ Women of Troy.

Directed by The Jack’s Artistic Director, Kate Bannister, this is a perfect opportunity to see Actorworks at it’s best.
